Oh the doldrums of a life lived halfway
Feeling so lost, so hungry, so aimless
Thirsty for purpose, for meaning, for vitality
Resigned to this dull, gray, foggy mentality
Oh how I long for a reason for being
A crisis, a fracture, an ugly truth which needs seeing
But here I am stuck, in my own private quagmire
Sinking, and sinking, until I expire
